Vicheka Lay attended Cambodia-Vietnam Investment Forum in Phnom Penh
On 8th November 2022, attorney Vicheka Lay, ILAWASIA Cambodia partner, attended the Cambodia-Vietnam Investment Forum in Phnom Penh.
The event aimed to boost investment and trade between the two neighboring countries. As a high-level investment forum, it was presided over by the Prime Ministers of Cambodia and Vietnam, president of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, president of Vietnam business club in Cambodia, secretary-general of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, Cambodian Minister of Commerce and hundred of other Cambodian and Vietnamese businesspeople.

Smart Lawyer Fair
On Friday 26th August 2022, Our Managing Partner, Somphob Rodboon, attended event at the Smart Lawyer Fair, hosted by Nanthana Intanon, Leader of Smart Lawyer Team, in order to represent ILAWASIA CO., LTD. and firm’s business; to advise for legal solutions; and to encourage lawyers on the upcoming election of President of the Lawyers Council.
Our associates, Kanyamol Phupapeiw, Kridtaporn Sirisereephap, Nannapas Phatcharakeatkanok, Vanisha Chaidee, Teeruth Tangnu, Chananya Yongmunkongkul, Tammanoon Rienmueng, and Buchaneeya Buranakate, also joined the event, to promote legal services on behalf of the firm; and greet legal practitioners from various firms and law students at the event.

On Sunday, 28th August 2022, ILAWASIA attorneys, led by Somphob Rodboon, Managing Partner, visited the Lawyers Council of Thailand, Bangkok, to exercise the right to vote chairperson and committee of the Lawyers Council of Thailand for a new appointment.
Our Cambodia Partner Attended IP Workshop
On Monday, 25th July 2022, our Cambodia’s Partner, Attorney LAY Vicheka attended a workshop on “copyright and related rights”, co-organized by the Cambodia Intellectual Property Association and the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.
This workshop intended to bring more awareness about copyright and related rights, as well as dispute resolution mechanism. The event was attended by the President of the Cambodian Intellectual Property Association, Deputy Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, IP attorneys, related law-enforcement officers, as well as relevant stakeholders.
Our Cambodia Partner Attended Training Event
On 5th May 2022, Our Cambodia’s Partner, attorney LAY Vicheka attend a training event related to trademark enforcement and infringement penalties, legal and the practical aspects of trademark registration, as well as the legal and practical aspects of how to response to office action.
The training event was lectured by His Excellency LY Sophanna, prosecutor of the Ministry of Justice Cambodia and other trademark attorneys.
World IP Day in Laos
On 26 April 2022, Miss Viphavanh Syharath, our associate attended on behalf of the firm for World IP Day event hosted by Intellectual Property Department of Laos. ILAW LAOS office is part of the sponsorship for the event that took place at National University of Laos.
Vicheka Lay attended the international conference on 22 April 2022
On 22nd April 2022, our Cambodia’s Partner, attorney LAY Vicheka, attended the international conference on “the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP)” and “the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement (CCFTA)”.
The event was organized by Cambodia-based Asian Vision Institute. The event’s panelist came from variety of relevant stakeholders, including the Cambodia’s secretary of state H.E. Sim Sokheng, commercial counsellor of the Chinese embassy in Phnom Penh, Mr. Wu Guoquan, Mr. Kavi Chongkittavorn, senior fellow of the institute of security and international studies at Chulalongkorn University, Dr. Zhou Shixin, head of the department of neighboring diplomacy, institute for foreign policy studies, Ms. Liu Siyuan, third secretary of the Chinese embassy in Cambodia, and representative from the Federation of Khmer Chinese in Cambodia.
The event elaborated the pros and con of RCEP and CCFTA, the opportunities and case studies of other countries in the region and basic comparison of RCEP and CCFTA with other bilateral and regional trading arrangements.
Donation in Support of the Prevention of COVID-19 for Thai Red Cross Chapters, Sakon Nakhon
ILAWASIA's Management and Executive, donated consumer goods, personal protective equipment (PPE), and 'IMEJI' hand soap, to Venerable Pra Ajarn Sikarint Pantitho of the Ming Mongkol Monk Residence, in support of the prevention of COVID-19 for medical personnel of The Thai Red Cross Chapters in Sakon Nakhon. In this regard, Ms. Jureerat Thepard, Provincial Governor of Sakon Nakhon, honoured as Guest of Honor.
